A Preconception Education Program

Additional Maternal/Child Wellness Programs:
First Steps for Parents & First Steps for Baby

This program is an educational forum for women who are considering pregnancy.  An assessment is done by an experienced obstetrical nurse and the conversation focuses on the concerns and questions of the participant.
The nurse will address various topics:
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Hereditary/Genetic Traits
  • Parenting Responsibilities
  • Pregnancy and Pregnancy Considerations
  • Choosing an Obstetrician
  • Participant Concerns

An Infertility Education Program

This is a specialty service of the First Steps Toward Parenting program.  Our experienced infertility nurses play an active role in educating the participants on appropriate diagnostic services and treatment.

A proactive discussion of the infertility benefit available through their health plan will assist the participants in making informed, cost-effective decisions.
  • This proactive management of infertility treatment can result in informed, empowered participants that spend their limited infertility dollars carefully.
  • A decrease in appeal rates can be expected due to informed decisions that are being made proactively.
  • When a participant achieves pregnancy, the same nurse may provide maternity management or case management services if these services are offered by the client.
